I spent a year in the school at the agency trying to do a technology class for the kids; they just aren't into it man. It isn't even remotely interesting to them, and I can't motivate them about what I actually do for a living. Nobody wants to be the kid that got picked on in high school.

"Housing First" only "doesn't work" because they aren't creating communities of care which address SAMHSA'S "eight dimensions of wellness." No substance use disorder treatment modalities I'm aware of here in the US have anywhere near the success level of San Patrignano in Italy.

When I was in early recovery after I rode a bicycle from Spokane to Seattle/Portland and northern California in 2015, the only job I was able to get when I previously had been making north of $100k as a network support engineer was as a fry cook at Zips on Third Avenue and Lincoln downtown.
